Parmesan Crusted Onion Rings
Ingredients
3-4 large white onions
1 cup flour
3 eggs
1 can carnation evaporated milk
1 pack Japanese bread crumbs (Kasugai)
1 cup grated parmesan cheese (Kraft or Chianti)
1 cup sour cream
2 tbsp chopped spring onion
Salt
Pepper
Cayenne pepper
Vegetable oil for deep frying
Alfalfa and life for plating
Procedures:
1. Cut the onions in quarter inch thick slices. Set aside
2. Lightly whisk 3 eggs with ½ a cup of evaporated milk. Set aside
3. Mix your breadcrumbs with parmesan cheese. Season with salt , pepper and cayenne pepper
4. Do the breading procedure for your onions: flour, eggs, bread crumbs
5. Fry the battered onions in batches (don’t overcrowd the onions) until golden brown. 2-3 minutes
6. In a separate bowl, mix sour cream with your chopped spring onions. Set aside
7. Once onions are cooked, drain excess oil in paper towels. Serve with your sour cream
